-Music is something we generally enjoy, so something is music to my ears that either very pleasing information or excellent news.
ex:
If your boss told you, he was giving you a 10 thousand dollars raise, you can say: That's a music to my ears. - be all ears 洗耳恭聽之意
- to be all ears means to be very eager to hear what someone is going to say
- ex: I'm all ears! 好像全身都長滿了耳朵,準備要聽對方講話 - be fulling on deaf ears 好像沒聽進去,有聽到但是沒有反應
- ex: If you were calling for help, but people don't respond, you can say: My calls for help are fulling on deaf ears.
- It means to be ignored by the people who heard you. - to be wet behind the ears 當動物剛出生時,全身都是濕濕的,此成語表示涉世未深,還很幼稚,沒有經驗的
- refers to be young, and not very experienced, you know how baby animals when they were born are very wet, that's the phrase came from. - (get) an earful 聽到一大堆的話,聽到大量的消息(但帶有負面意義)
